Green Label Plus

The CRI Green Label is a certification from the Carpet and Rug Institute to improve the health of indoor spaces. Today, indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important environmental consideration, especially since we spend approximately 90 percent of our time indoors. In 1992, CRI launched its Green Label program to test carpet, cushions and adhesives to help specifiers identify products with very low emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Subsequently, CRI launched the Green Label Plus programs for carpet, adhesives, and cushion. These enhanced programs set higher standards for IAQ and ensure that customers are purchasing the very lowest emitting products on the market. Using scientifically established standards, the Green Label Plus program symbolizes the carpet industry’s commitment to a better environment for living, working, learning, and healing.

Green Star NZ is an Environmental rating system for buildings developed and operated by the New Zealand Green Building Council (www.nzgbc.org.nz). It is a powerful tool that allows building clients to catalyse their desire for environmental initiatives into a simple phrase such as "we shall aim for a 5 star building". This in turn means the design team will explore a number of possible environmental options spread across 8 major impact categories.

Most materials emit volatile substances called VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) during their lifetime. Depending on the quantity and/or quality of emitted VOC, some products (solvents, adhesives, paints...) can undermine air quality inside buildings.

Our Gerflor products are regularly assessed in accordance with the ISO 16000 standards, at both 3 and 28 days and are proven to rank among the product ranges with the lowest VOC emissions on the market.

Phthalate Free

Amtico have removed phthalates from all their products as a health protection measure.

PVC Free

Exclusive patented technology by Gerflor. The evercare™ water-repellent effect prevents staining products from penetrating the materials (alcohol-based Eosin and Betadine, hydro-alcoholic gels, etc.), remaining on the surface.

No wax required equals saved water and detergent. Ten times less cleaning products required to maintain Gerflor floor coverings with evercare™ compared with a non-treated floor covering.
